ACQUISITION HAMPSHIRE HOSPITALITY & LEISURE BY EDEN HOTEL GROUPAmsterdam, June 28, 2011 - Eden Hotel Group (Eden) has acquired Hampshire Hospitality & Leisure (Hampshire) per June 24, 2011. Having incorporated both companies, the hotel operation and franchise companies continue their business under the brand of Hampshire Hospitality. By this acquisition one of the top five Benelux hotelcompanies will be realised, offering 118 (franchise) hotels. The 24 owned operations generate a gross revenue of EUR 90 million and employing over 1.000 employees. The executive office will be located in Amsterdam. The executive team of Hampshire Hospitality will be headed by Chief Executive Officer Etienne J.A. Verkerk. The former Eden CEO Léon D.H. Dijkstra will be joining the Supervisory Board of Hampshire Hospitality. “We are very happy by joining forces of Eden and Hampshire. The Executive team of Hampshire Hospitality will be chaired by CEO Etienne J.A. Verkerk and will be located in Amsterdam. Léon D.H. Dijkstra resigns as CEO of the Eden Hotel Group and joins the Supervisory Board of Hampshire Hospitality. The new Supervisory Board further consists of Mr Jan ten Kate (chairman), Mr Thomas A.H. Bas, Mr Sjoerd Dijkstra and Mr Ferry Houterman.Corporate identityHampshire Hospitality possesses 4 brands. The brand name for 4 star plus hotels and 4 star properties with high level service is called “Hampshire Eden”. The brand name for 3- and 4 star properties remains “Hampshire Hotel” and for premium class hotels with a strong identity the soft branded “Hampshire Classic” remains.
